Emma Bunton, the former Spice Girls Group member, and an experienced R&D  director Christopher Money, both parents, developed in the UK in 2017, a natural, gentle and sustainable alternative to classic diapers that do not  irritate delicate baby skin  – Kit & Kin diapers, which are a better choice than ordinary diapers, as they are made of gentle environmentally friendly materials that do not contain harmful chemicals, along with wet wipes and cosmetics are also suitable for children and mums with the most sensitive skin.

All products are clinically tested, hypoallergenic, certified by dermatologists and have a Soil Association certificate.

The fluffy chlorine-free cellulose used in manufacturing of the diapers is derived from sustainable forests, and the front parts of diapers, anti-leakage strips and fringes and packaging are made of biodegradable material. Using environmentally friendly diapers, we maintain natural habitats taking care of their recovery and helping reduce pollution

The diapers are extremely soft, tender, well absorbent and friendly to the tender baby’s skin, designed with a modern animal print that makes little babies’ bottoms look even cuter.

What are eco friendly nappies ?

Eco friendly nappies are nappies that aim to minimise their impact on the environment through the materials used and/or the production processes applied. This includes reusable (cloth) nappies, but the term generally refers to disposable nappies that are sustainably made. At Kit and Kin, we make our nappies in a carbon neutral factory from sustainable and plant-derived materials. This includes the absorbent core of our nappy, which contains totally chlorine-free, FSC® certified wood pulp from sustainably managed forests and bio based gels. We are also the only nappy brand that buys rainforest to ensure it’s protected. Forever.

Our hypoallergenic nappies are made from majority plant-based and biodegradable materials, so in order for them to break down as quickly as possible we would recommend following these simple steps:

  • Ensure the used nappy is placed inside a biodegradable nappy sack which will allow for oxygen to permeate
  • When disposing of the sack in the bin, if possible place it outside of the non-biodegradable bin liner (but still within the bin itself) as this will maximise the exposure to oxygen

Do nappies biodegrade ?

The vast majority of our nappy is made from biodegradable materials. A much higher proportion than other eco nappies and of course a complete improvement compared to nappies made from petrochemicals. There is currently no biodegradable alternative for the velcro tabs and the elastics in the leg cuffs, but we are always looking for new materials as they become available. Biodegradability depends very much on landfill conditions and access to oxygen but in the right conditions, our nappies will biodegrade much faster than plastic nappies. We are in conversations with local councils, working towards a recycling option for used nappies.

Your nappies are made in a carbon neutral plant in the EU. Every pack sold helps protect acres of precious rainforest too. That stops 13 tonnes of carbon from being released with every eco nappies subscription.
